To continue to keep all BIG TOM customers up to date with the driving test booking rules from the regulator (DVSA), this blog is an update on the BIG TOM blog provided on 09/12/2025.
The DVSA continues to deliver on the changes announced last year as follows:
Only you can book a driving test from late Spring in 2026 – no longer can driving instructors do this for you. Also, only you will be able to make changes to the test booking. From 31/03/2026 the number of changes that you can make to a test booking will be 2. And from late Spring you will only be able to move a test to test centres close to the test centre of the original test booking.
BIG TOM has been implementing these changes by the regulator as soon as they were proposed in 2025, and will continue to comply entirely with the regulations. It is pleasing to see that already there are very positive signs that the availability of late cancellation driving test slots is significantly improving (as evidenced here on the BIG TOM blog).
